Congressman Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) is running for the Senate to replace the unreliable Sen. Bob Corker who is retiring this year. Corker ran as a conservative, but turned out to be a Chuck Schumer Republican instead. Corker even praised Blackburn’s opponent Democrat Phil Bredesen, when Bredesen announced his candidacy in the spring. As it turns out, Bredesen was encouraged to run by Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer. This is a bad sign.

Congressman Blackburn is a hard-core social conservative who has been a consistent pro-life, pro-family vote in the House. She was recently endorsed by the National Right To Life Committee. While in the House, Blackburn was a sponsor of the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act and the Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, which would have protected unborn babies by banning abortions after 20 weeks.

Blackburn has a 100% pro-life voting record, opposes abortion on demand and the use of taxpayer dollars to pay for abortions.

On the other hand, former Tennessee Gov. Phil Bredesen wouldn’t even sign a pro-life license plate law designed to raise funds for pregnancy resource centers. Bredesen would be a reliable vote in the Senate for Planned Parenthood’s baby killing industry.
