Yesterday, Rep. Chris Smith (R-NJ) welcomed the introduction of a Senate companion bill to his bipartisan “Federal Disaster Assistance Nonprofit Fairness Act of 2017” (H.R. 2405). Faith Leaders Praise Trump’s Action To Protect Religious Liberty

Faith leaders are praising what they hope is a first step by the Trump administration to protect religious liberties that were put in a bull’s-eye by the Obama administration. President Trump signed an executive order Thursday instructing that churches be given the widest freedom possible from the Johnson amendment of 1954 that restricts their speech.

The spy network was established in 2009 when Obama operatives contacted liberal pastors to convince them to help identify those who have anti-Obama viewpoints. Pastors were asked to watch those who spoke about gun ownership or the Tea Party.
