Upstart Republican candidates are bear-hugging President Trump and saying their rivals in the party are insufficiently supportive of the president, banking on sustained enthusiasm for Mr. Trump carrying into elections this year and next year.

The crowd at last night’s CNBC GOP presidential debate erupted into applause when Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) slammed the CNBC moderators for their biased questions of the presidential candidates. Cruz said that the debate is not a “cage fight” pitting one Republican against another. It should be an actual debate with questions on important issues.
In a sometimes contentious presidential debate, Republican candidates took jabs at each other and Democrats, but concluded the night by singing God’s praises.
At the Republican presidential debate, moderator and FOX News anchor Megyn Kelly tried to ambush Donald Trump. After reminding The Donald that he had “called women you don’t like fat pigs, dogs, slobs and disgusting animals,” Kelly asked the candidate a rhetorical question that was supposed to eviscerate him, “How will you answer the charge from Hillary Clinton, who is likely to be the Democratic nominee, that you are part of the war on women?”
