Barack Obama has signed into law a bill authorizing some $611 billion in funding for the U.S. military for 2017, but hidden inside the massive governmental document is a provision that is alarming free-speech and limited-government advocates: authorization and funding for a new center to decide what is truth.
Former House speaker Newt Gingrich predicted Sunday that President-elect Donald Trump will devastate President Obama’s legacy by immediately rescinding up to 70 percent of the Democrat’s executive orders. “I think in the opening couple days, he’s going to repeal 60 to 70 percent of Obama’s legacy by simply vetoing out all of the various executive orders …
President Obama is personally responsible for this anti-Israel resolution. His diplomats secretly coordinated the vote, yet he doesn’t even have the courage of his own convictions to vote for it. We should not be surprised that his administration would lash out with this eleventh hour power grab on the way out the door, but I am certain this rule will not stand for long.
President Obama is blaming U.S. intelligence agencies for failing to detect the rise of the Islamic State, one of the biggest foreign-policy calamities of his second term. In an interview with CNN’s Fareed Zakaria that aired Wednesday night, the president said his administration underestimated the terrorist group known as ISIL.
Reinstate the Mexico City Policy. This policy, first established by President Reagan, prevents organizations that receive American taxpayer dollars from performing or promoting abortions abroad, even if done with non-United States government funding.
