It’s difficult to choose the most disturbing aspect of the State Department Inspector General’s report this week on Hillary Clinton’s email practices, but near the top of the list must surely be this: Virtually everything Clinton has said about her email has been a lie, and she knew it all the time.
The Obama State Department last week admitted it withheld a key Benghazi email of former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton from Judicial Watch since at least September 2014. If the State Department disclosed the email when first supposedly found, Clinton’s email server and her hidden emails would have been disclosed nearly two years ago, before Clinton authorized the alleged deletion of tens of thousands of emails.
Even for a veteran of Capitol Hill such as myself, the mountain of disinformation is difficult to dig through to find the truth. Telling the truth to Capitol Hill staff is even more difficult than finding out what the truth is to start with. A prime reason for this is the many catch phrases that have been put into play that are less than truthful, but have been said over and over again so many times that they are accepted as truth by virtually everyone, including the media.

The official also couldn’t give Gowdy any assurance that Hillary had provided the State Department with all of the documents she had kept on her server. Hillary has already admitted that she and her staffers had scrubbed the server of any “personal” documents – but it wasn’t up to her to make that determination. She clearly violated the federal records act by keeping a private server with official State Department business on it – a server that could have easily been hacked by enemies of the United States.
Besides exclusively using a secret email account to conduct official government business, it’s likely that Hillary Clinton also used unauthorized electronic equipment—an iPad and an iPhone—as Secretary of State after being warned not to, a veteran State Department official told Judicial Watch this week.
