GING-PAC endorsed congressional candidate Andy Coleman is facing four opponents in the GOP primary scheduled for June 26. Coleman is running for the 1st Congressional District House seat. This seat was held by Jim Bridenstine, who has become the head of NASA.

Coleman is a graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy and served as an intelligence officer with USCENTAF, the Air Force agency dealing with the Middle East, Central Asia, and North Africa.

After transferring to the Air Force reserves, Coleman attended the University of Kansas School of Law, where he served as editor of the law review, a leader in the Christian Legal Society and the Federalist Society. He later interned with the Alliance Defending Freedom, a religious freedom law firm.

His biographical sketch notes:

Andy’s law school experience was interrupted after his first year, when he was mobilized to active duty. Activated during the “surge” in Iraq and assigned to the U.S. Army, Captain Andy Coleman deployed to Baghdad, Iraq, with a Civil Affairs brigade. Civil Affairs personnel interacted with local Iraqi communities to help rebuild the country, including infrastructure, medical facilities, and markets.

Andy served from 2007–08 as the unit’s senior intelligence officer, responsible for monitoring local threats to the CA troops. Andy encountered persecuted Iraqi Christians during his service, and promptly began routing much-needed assistance—donated by his family, friends, and church—to these hurting people, particularly goods for infants.

This race is likely to have a run-off election if no candidate gets more than 50% of the vote.

Pray for Andy Coleman – and support the work of GING-PAC in helping men and women like Coleman represent our values in Congress and the Senate!
