JimmyCarterFormer President Jimmy Carter never seems to shut up. Carter ran our nation’s economy into the ground during his one-term in office from 1976-1980, and engineered the overthrow of the pro-Western Shah of Iran – giving us an Islamist regime that threatens the world. Hundreds of thousands have died since then because of Carter’s actions against the Shah.

In spite of is embarrassing failures as a president, Carter is still issuing statements that demonstrate his complete ignorance of how the world operates.

His latest statements on the Catholic Church and the Southern Baptist Convention once again show his foolishness for the world to see.

According to Carter’s latest pronouncement, because the Catholics and Southern Baptists forbid female priests and pastors, this automatically leads to the abuse of women.

To bolster his view, he quotes from the U.N. Declaration of Human Rights – a document that proclaims that “rights” come from governments, not from God.

According to Carter: “These are the paragraphs from the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and every country is sworn to implement these laws of equality in their laws and in their treatment of men and women. They don’t do it and quite often the excuse for not doing it is because religious leaders say that women are inferior.”

Well, if he’s referring to Islam, he’s right. Islam most definitely views women as inferiors and as slaves, but the Catholic Church and Southern Baptists do not.
