Damage to social conservative credibility – All of us in the social conservative movement were damaged by the election of adulterer Mark Sanford to the House of Representatives in a special election on May 7.

The day before the election, Christian conservative leader Foster Friess sent out an email urging conservatives in South Carolina to “forgive” Sanford for his transgressions and to vote for him. The email urged conservatives across the nation to ask their friends in South Carolina to vote for Sanford as well.

It is bothersome that many social conservatives, such as Foster Friess, not only ignored Sanford’s unfaithfulness to his wife, the lies to his children and the public, but his misuse of the public trust as well. Sanford used a state owned jet along with its crew to go for a week- long meeting with his mistress in Argentina. 

By backing Mark Sanford, or by saying nothing to stop his re-ascendancy, the social conservative leaders of the Christian right have declared that they are Republicans first and moral leaders maybe second, third or fourth. If social conservative leaders can ignore the transgressions of Mark Sanford, who is currently still shacked up with his mistress, what else will they ignore in support of the GOP?

On May 7, many social conservative leaders sent a clear message to the GOP establishment, the Democrats and to the media that their belief structure is infected so badly by politics that morals no longer matter. GING-PAC on the other hand published the truth about Sanford and publicly refused to endorse him.

Two GING-PAC Legislators Seek Answers On Benghazi – On May 8, the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee hearing on Benghazi included questions from Ohio Rep. Jim Jordan and Tim Walberg of Michigan. Both are GING-PAC endorsed legislators.

Rep. Jordan did some of the most aggressive questioning of the three State Department officials who had volunteered to tell the truth about what happened before, during and after the Islamist attack on America’s consulate in Benghazi, Libya on September 11, 2012. During that attack, our U.S. Ambassador, an aide, and two former Navy SEALS were killed – while someone in the State Department refused to provide military assistance to them as they were fighting for their lives during a battle that lasted at least seven hours.

One of the most despicable displays of political maneuvering during the hearing came from Democrat minority leader Elijah Cummings, who used his opening statement to trash the character and truthfulness of House Committee Chairman Darrell Issa of California. Other Democrats spent their time trying to blame security failures in Benghazi on budget cuts.

Congressman nearly aborted – Representative Marlin Stutzman (R-IN) recently described how his then 17-year-old mother had nearly aborted him in 1975. On a cold December night in 1975, her home burned to the ground and she had taken refuge in her neighbor’s home. Added to the stress of losing her home, she had also just learned that she was pregnant.

THE SENATE

Senator Ted Cruz

GING-PAC endorsed Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) is clearly shaking things up in the U.S. Senate since his election in 2012. He’s become a regular target of leftists who are fearful of his effectiveness in challenging the status quo in the Senate.

In recent weeks, Cruz has been accused by Senate Majority Leader Dingy Harry Reid of being a “school yard bully.” Former Democrat governor Bill Richardson (a Hispanic), has now claimed on national TV that Ted Cruz isn’t truly a Hispanic because of his opposition to unrestricted illegal immigration into our country. The arrogance of Richardson is astounding.

Liberals remain angry at Ted Cruz for his polite – but persistent — questioning of Senator Diane Feinstein over her ridiculous gun control legislation that would have violated the Second Amendment and basically made it impossible for law-abiding citizens to defend themselves against criminals or from a tyrannical government.

Senator Blunt outraged by IRS actions – Missouri Senator Roy Blunt (R) recently released a statement on the IRS targeting conservative groups during the 2012 election cycle. According to Blunt, a GING-PAC endorsed legislator: “I am outraged that the IRS played politics and wrongfully targeted conservative organizations during the election cycle. I join my colleagues in calling on the Obama Administration to conduct a transparent review and ensure this type of behavior is not tolerated moving forward and Americans’ first amendment rights are protected.” Read more

THE PRESIDENT

GING-PAC has joined forces with Lt. General William Boykin in a petition campaign to defend religious liberty in the U.S. Armed Forces. Boykin is firmly convinced that if pressure is not put on President Obama’s Secretary of Defense, his political operatives in the military will ban all members of the services from publically proclaiming their faith to others. Members of the services could actually face court-martials for sharing their faith with their brothers in arms.

The Pentagon recently hired Mikey Weinstein as an advisor. This vicious anti-Christian bigot characterizes witnessing for the Lord as spiritual rape and treason against the U.S. Weinstein may be involved in designing “religious tolerance” materials for the Pentagon. He wants to purge the military of any religious presence and refers to evangelicals as “monsters.” Support General Boykin!

Benghazi could force Obama resignation? – On May 6^th my good friend, Governor Mike Huckabee, predicted on his radio show that President Obama would resign over the “cover-up” of the attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, Libya. He said that the Obama “cover-up” was “more serious than Watergate.”

 “I believe that before it’s all over, this president will not fill out his full term. I know that puts me on a limb,” Huckabee claimed. “But this is not minor. It wasn’t minor when Richard Nixon lied to the American people and worked with those in his administration to cover-up what really happened in Watergate.”

“But, I remind you, as bad as Watergate was, because it broke the trust between the president and the people — no one died. This is more serious because four Americans did in fact die,” Huckabee said. Hear his remarks.

President Obama’s jihad against religious liberty – Obama continues to wage jihad against religious liberty, not only here in the U.S., but around the world. In America, he pushes his anti-religious bigotry through the abortion mandate in Obamacare. The Department of Health and Human Services is forcing Christian-owned businesses to provide abortion, contraceptive, and sterilization services to their employees. In the military he is restricting the free speech of chaplains and working to silence Christians.

Around the globe, Obama is using the power of his office to overthrow secular governments and replace them in the Middle East with Muslim Brotherhood controlled governments. Egypt is becoming an Islamic totalitarian state – and Christians are fleeing the country. Libya is a mess with Al-Qaeda operating in public. Obama is now targeting the Syrian government for destruction by helping Muslim terrorist groups overthrow the Assad regime.
