The Left Gained 40 Seats In 2018 – Conservatives Must Retake Them
The Republican Party lost control of the House in 2018 and America is paying the price for its losses. Conservatives are holding the line in the Senate, but Pelosi must be ousted.
In the House, Democrats have a 235-199 majority. In the Senate, Republicans have a 53-47 majority, but many of those Republicans are weak and are self-identified “moderates” who frequently side with Democrats – especially on social issues like abortion and homosexuality. The 53-seat majority isn’t really a dependable voting bloc. In practical effect, Democrats hold the majority. Democrats are a monolithic entity and usually enforce conformity upon their members.
Republicans must enlarge their “majority” in the Senate and win back the seats they lost in the House. GING-PAC’s goal is to see more social conservatives in both the Senate and the House. In the articles below, we have listed our chosen candidates for 2020 in both the Senate and House.
The race for the Senate seat in Alabama is in flux with a couple of Republican candidates seeking to defeat Democrat Doug Jones – who won the seat held by GOP Sen. Luther Strange. Sen. Strange lost his primary to Judge Roy Moore – and Moore was defeated by Jones in the 2018 election. Jones is filling out the remainder of Jeff Sessions’ time in the Senate.
Two special elections are worth watching. Conservative Dr. Greg Murphy is running for the 3rd Congressional District in North Carolina. Murphy’s election is in July. The other is Fred Keller who is seeking election to the 12th Congressional District in Pennsylvania.
Tina Ramirez Runs For House Seat In Virginia!
Tina Ramirez is a long-time friend and has served on the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom. She also helped create the Congressional International Religious Freedom Caucus.
Tina has spent a great deal of her adult life working to defend religious liberty around the world and has operations in Iraq similar to mine. Her non-profit provides teachers and materials to promote democratic values in Iraqi schools.
She is running against Democrat Abigail Spanberger who defeated Dave Brat in the 7th Congressional District of Virginia. Brat was a Tea Party candidate who defeated our long-time friend Eric Cantor in a primary, but Spanberger’s victory ended a five-decade Republican hold on this district. Ramirez is working not just to return the seat to the GOP side, but to make it as really conservative as it should be.
Spanberger is a former CIA case officer and was a substitute English teacher at the Islamic Saudi Academy in Northern Virginia – a hotbed of Muslim radicalism. Spanberger won her election in 2018 with money from the pro-abortion Emily’s List and NARAL. They only fund candidates who support abortion on demand. Ramirez will be a good replacement for this liberal posing as a “moderate.”
Tom Cotton Targeted By Fake Moderate Democrat For Arkansas Senate Seat
Social conservative Christian Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) is up for re-
election in 2020. He’s being targeted for defeat by Fayetteville businessman Josh Mahony. Mahony ran for the House in 2018 and lost with only 32% of the vote. He refused to provide any information on his political beliefs to online voter guide services. What’s he hiding?
One voter guide service, Votesmart.org, accused him of failing the “political courage test” by refusing to answer any questions on issues like abortion. His non-answer on abortion tell us where he stands on that important life & death issue. In addition, he’s using the services of political operative Amy Gray to organize his campaign. Gray helped creepy porn lawyer Michael Avenatti establish his political action committee in Los Angeles. Avenatti has been arrested on multiple fraud charges and faces a long prison sentence.
Sen. Tom Cotton, of course, is a principled social conservative who served with the 101st Airborne in Afghanistan and Iraq and has been a defender of the right to life and religious liberty in the House and now in the Senate.
Sen. Lankford Introduces Prayer Resolution
Senator James Lankford (R-OK) introduced a resolution on May 2, to
recognize the National Day of Prayer. In his remarks, Lankford noted:
As we watch the attacks on synagogues in our country, as we watch bombings of Christians in Sri Lanka, gun battles that have erupted in churches in the United States, mosques that have been attacked, people of faith being targeted simply because of their faith it is a reasonable thing as a nation to be able to pause and say ‘how are we as this year’s theme says: loving one another?’.
… So if I can model for the nation for just a moment in my own way and encourage the nation on our National Day of Prayer to be able to pause and pray, I would simply say this, ‘Let us pray as a nation.’
Father, guide us. We need Your help. Controversy, the division in our nation, the anger, the struggle. Help us to be able to love one another. Help us to be able to see each other as You have created us and to respect You, Your wisdom and Your guidance: Father, we admit that we do not know as much as You. So we need Your help.
We need Your insight. For our first responders and our military scattered around this nation and around the world, we pray Your protection for them, pray that You would give them insight. Help them to be able to represent us well.
Sen. Lankford was recently given the “2018 Award For Conservative Excellence” award by the American Conservative Union (ACU). The award was given for his outstanding conservative voting record – a 91% rating by the ACU. It was the 8th highest rating in the Senate.
Texas Congressman Louie Gohmert Releases Statement On National Day Of Prayer
Congressman Louie Gohmert (R-TX), like Sen. Lankford, is an evangelical
Christian conservative and GING-PAC endorsed lawmaker. He released a statement on May 2nd on the importance of prayer in the life of our nation. We are reprinting excerpts below:
“Today we celebrate the National Day of Prayer. This significant day was designated by the United States Congress in 1952 by a joint resolution. Today Christians all over the country are urged to turn to God in prayer and fervent meditation.
Throughout the history of this nation, prayer has played a meaningful role. In fact, the first call to prayer was in 1775 when the Continental Congress asked the colonies to pray for wisdom in forming a nation. This country’s founding fathers sought after the wisdom of God when faced with serious decisions, and today this practice should also be very important. It is God’s guidance and provision that safely steers our vessels to their safe harbor. There will always be an abiding need for unified public prayer by Americans for our guidance, for wisdom, and for his loving, protective, unseen hand of protection.
… We should pray as did George Washington, that God would “dispose us all to do justice, to love mercy, and to demean ourselves with charity, humility and pacific temper of mind, which were the characteristics of the Divine Author of our blessed religion, and without an humble imitation of whose example in these things, we can never hope to be a happy nation.”
Kelli Ward Wins Arizona GOP Chairmanship!
Former U.S. Senate candidate Kelli Ward may have lost her bid to replace
anti-Trumper Jeff Flake in the Senate, but in January, she won her election as the new chairman of the Arizona Republican Party. In this position, she will guide the Arizona GOP toward supporting true social conservative candidates.
In an article published in “The Daily Caller,” in January, Ward noted: “Our party is always strongest when we are the party of the individual, not big government; free markets, not welfarism; lawfulness, not lawlessness.
“For when we lose sight of why we fight, we also will surely lose the fight. Republicans can win in Arizona — and win big league — but it’s going to require us choosing smart leaders, electing bold candidates, and embracing the platform that Republicans ran and won on in 2016. It’s true that the road forward will not be easy but, then again, when have we as Republicans ever asked for a handout?”
Marsha Blackburn & Marco Rubio Seek Data On Tax Dollars Going To Planned Parenthood
GING-PAC endorsed Senators Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) and Marco Rubio
(R-FL) have joined forces to demand information from the Government Accountability Office (GAO) on how many millions of dollars go to Planned Parenthood each year – and to international providers of abortion.
Blackburn & Rubio are working to defund Planned Parenthood and other abortion providers. In fact, Blackburn’s first official act as a new U.S. Senator was to introduce the “Title X Abortion Provider Prohibition Act” to stop taxpayer dollars from being used to kill unborn babies.
South Carolina Rep. Jeff Duncan Supports “Born Alive Survivors Protection Act”
In April, GING-PAC endorsed Congressman Jeff Duncan (R-SC)
voiced his support for passage of the “Born Alive Survivors Protection Act.” According to Duncan: “This debate isn’t about abortion—it is about ensuring babies who survive an abortion get the same level of life-saving medical care as any other baby. It’s disheartening that we are even at a point where it is controversial to take a stand against infanticide in Congress. The Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act should be the easiest vote ever cast to stand for all life, born and unborn. The American people deserve to know where their elected officials stand on infanticide.” Democrats have successfully blocked a vote on this bill 25 times in the current Congress. In fact, many of them have openly expressed support for post-birth abortions (infanticide).
These social conservatives deserve our support in their re-election bids in 2020 and we should always remember them in our prayers. Donate to GING-PAC today to help re-elect them to their House and Senate seats – and help us elect more like them in 2020.
