GOP House candidate Steve Montenegro lost his race to replace Congressman Trent Franks in the 8th District in Arizona. Montenegro had been endorsed by GING-PAC before revelations of his alleged sexual misconduct was revealed in the media. Christian voters reacted against these revelations and picked former State Senator Debbie Lesko to replace Franks.
Lesko has been endorsed by the Susan B. Anthony List, a pro-life group and Arizona Right to Life, and she has a 100% rating with the Center for Arizona Policy. She’s also been named “Friend of the Family” by the Arizona Family Project. Lesko will face Democrat Hiral Tipirneni, a political newcomer, in the April 24 special election to replace Franks.
