I want to express my deepest and sincerest gratitude to my colleagues who not only played a role in the creation and development of The Pain Capable Unborn Child Protection Act but who also voted today to protect little pain-capable unborn babies. I especially want to thank the leadership of the House for bringing it to a vote on this unique day. Protecting those who cannot protect themselves is why we are really all here and today’s vote is a strong reminder of that.

Congressman Trent Franks (R-AZ) is the sponsor of the Pain Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, which will be voted on by the House this Thursday – on the 42nd anniversary of the infamous Roe v. Wade decision. Franks’ bill protects unborn children after 20 weeks when they can feel pain during an abortion. The U.S. is one of only seven nations that permits elective abortions after 20 weeks.

Congressman Trent Franks (R-AZ) is leading 105 Congressman to urge Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) to permit a vote on his “Pain-Capable Unborn Child Protection Act.”

The bill was proposed by Franks and easily passed in the House. It has been blocked in the Senate ever since by Reid.

On Tuesday, the House of Representatives passed the Pain Capable Unborn Child Protection Act, sponsored by GING-PAC supported Rep. Trent Franks (R-AZ). The bill passed by a vote of 228-196. The legislation, if signed into law, will ban abortions after 20 weeks of gestation.
