THE SENATE

Hope in New Jersey? – Liberal Senator Frank Lautenberg (D-NJ) died in June and Republican Gov. Chris Christie has named a temporary replacement for him. Instead of appointing a Republican to serve out the remainder of Lautenberg’s term, Christie has called for a special election which is NOT required to fill Senate seats. This was a stupid move on the part of Christie. New Jersey voters haven’t elected a Republican to the Senate since 1972, so he’s effectively given this Senate seat to the Democrats. Meanwhile Christie continues his slobbering love affair with Barack Obama over “storm aid.” This is the kind of guy Karl Rove and company want as the GOP presidential candidate in 2016.

CruzRightLifeGING-PAC Senators are pro-life – GING-PAC endorsed Texas Senator Ted Cruz will be speaking at the National Right to Life convention in Dallas between June 27th and 29th . Cruz will also be speaking at a Christian conservative event in Iowa in mid-July. Cruz continues to be a vocal and aggressive critic of Obama, Eric Holder and their corrupt administration. He’s being systematically targeted for ridicule for his principled conservative stands by the “mainstream” media. GING-PAC will continue to stand with Senator Ted Cruz!

Senator Rand Paul and Syria – Senator Rand Paul is not a GING-PAC endorsed candidate. We did not back him in 2008 because of some of his libertarian stands similar to those of his father Ron Paul. However, this month Senator Paul was the first Senator to openly say that our government should not be backing the jihadists that kill Christians in Syria. At a Faith and Freedom Coalition’s Road to Majority event, he also stated that nations that persecute Christians, such as Pakistan and Egypt, should not receive aid from the United States.

“It angers me to see my tax dollars supporting regimes that put Christians to death for blasphemy against Islam, countries that put to death Muslims who convert to Christianity, and countries who imprison anyone who marries outside their religion,” Senator Paul said.

Paul, who is seen as a likely presidential candidate in 2016, also criticized his fellow senators for their spending priorities, highlighting arguments over a bill he sponsored earlier this year that would have cut off all aid to Pakistan, Egypt and Libya until they turned over those responsible for the murder of U.S. Ambassador Christopher Stevens.

“It makes no sense. Should we be sending F-16s and tanks to Egypt when President Mohammed Morsi says Jews are descendants of apes and pigs?” he said. “Even if all the atrocities against Christians were not being committed, we wouldn’t have the money to be sending to these countries. We’re borrowing money from China to send it to Pakistan.”

THE HOUSE

In late May, Congressman Jim Jordan (R-OH) tried to get honest answers from Douglas Shulman, former head of the IRS, on the targeting of Tea party groups as well as social conservative and pro-life groups, but got only vague responses and memory losses.

Jordan and his colleagues on the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee were clearly frustrated with all of the non-answers and convenient amnesia coming from Shulman. Jordan was trying to find out when he found out that the IRS was deliberately targeting conservative and Christian groups for harassment. He got evasive answers and denials of responsibility.

Jordan told Shulman: “One hundred thirty-two members of Congress contacted you about this information, 42 major news stories about this very subject, and you told Congress a year ago, ‘I can give you assurance, nothing is going on, everything is wonderful, we’re not targeting conservative groups’.” Shulman lied to Congress.

GING-PAC legislators stand for religious freedom – On June 12, several congressmen took to the House floor to speak out on behalf of  U.S. liberty of religion and conscience in a Special Order event.  The leader of this “Conscience and Religious Freedom” Special Order was GING-PAC endorsed Rep. Jeff Fortenberry, who is deeply concerned about the violation of conscience and religious liberty in Obamacare’s abortion mandate.

Under the Affordable Care Act (ACA), the Obama Administration told the American public that they would have the ability to pick their doctors and keep their insurance.  After failing on both accounts, the Administration is now telling for-profit and nonprofit businesses, employers and employees alike, that they no longer have the rights guaranteed by the First Amendment. Participants in the one hour special order included GING-PAC endorsed congressmen Joe Pitts, Chris Smith Tim Walberg, Jim Jordan and Diane Black, among others.

Congressman questions FBI Director’s ignorance – GING-PAC endorsed Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX) grilled FBI Director Robert Mueller during a Judiciary Committee hearing in June and found that the director was ignorant of the Al Qaeda origins of the Boston Mosque. It was at this mosque that the Boston Marathon bombers were radicalized by an Islamist imam.

The Islamic Society of Boston mosque was founded by Abdurahman Alamoudi in 1981. In 2004, Alamoudi was sent to prison for 23 years for his role in a Libyan plot to kill Saudi Crown Prince Abdullah. Alamoudi had also raised money for Al Qaeda in the U.S. Alamoudi was also the Islamic advisor to the Clinton Administration and has been a supporter of terrorist groups Hamas and Hezbollah. Gohmert sharply criticized Mueller for being unable to answer questions about the mosque and its radical roots.

Congressman shows photos of abortion clinic murder – In late May GING-PAC endorsed Congressman Trent Franks showed his fellow congressmen photos of a baby who was killed after birth in a Houston, Texas abortion clinic run by Douglas Karpen. The grisly photos were supplied to Operation Rescue (OR) by former clinic workers who blew the whistle on Karpen’s practice of killing babies outside of the womb in botched abortions.

Congressman Franks showed the photos during a debate on the Pain Capable Unborn Child Protection Act (HR 1797). This bill will provide nationwide protection for unborn children after 20 weeks, when they are known to feel pain.

GING-PAC congressmen make a difference – Above are just some of the many facts about the way GING-PAC endorsed congressmen make a difference on Capitol Hill on issues important to social conservatives and true Christians. Just in the last thirty days a group of congressmen spent one full hour on the floor of the House protesting ObamaCare’s violation of religious liberty. GING-PAC congressmen have stepped forward on pro-life issues. GING-PAC congressmen are also pushing to stop the cleansing of Christianity from our military and the white washing of Islam. More stories about our endorsed congressmen appear daily at www.GINGPAC.org.

Please support the ongoing work of GING-PAC in funding the campaign efforts of committed social conservatives in the House and Senate.
