Missouri Attorney General Josh Hawley won his GOP primary yesterday and will now face off against leftist Sen. Claire McCaskill in November. Hawley is a Christian, social conservative and longtime defender of religious liberty. He previously worked for the Becket Fund For Religious Liberty and defended Hobby Lobby against the Obamacare abortion mandate. He clerked for Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts. McCaskill is a smarmy liberal in the mold of Chuck Schumer and Harry Reid. She is likely to be soundly beaten by Hawley in November. His victory will increase the slim GOP majority in the Senate — and provide one added social conservative to a largely ineffective legislative body.
